SAT Timetable FAQs

1. When should I register for the SAT?

Register as early as possible, ideally before the regular registration deadline. Early registration gives you better test-center availability and fewer fees.

2. What is late registration?

Late registration is a short extension after the main deadline. You can still register, but you usually pay an additional late fee.

3. How long does SAT score release take?

Most SAT scores are released about 13 days after test day, though occasional delays can happen due to processing or verification.

4. Can I change my SAT test date or center?

Yes, you can usually request changes before the change deadline. A change fee may apply, and seat availability can be limited.

5. What happens if I miss registration deadlines?

If both regular and late registration deadlines pass, you need to choose the next available SAT administration date.

6. What ID do I need on SAT test day?

You need an acceptable photo ID that matches your registration details. International students are typically required to carry a valid passport.

7. Do I need my own laptop for the digital SAT?

Most students should bring a fully charged laptop or tablet with Bluebook installed. A backup device is strongly recommended if available.

8. Is there a fee waiver for SAT registration?

Yes. Eligible students can receive SAT fee waivers through school counselors, covering registrations and additional score sends.

9. What are SAT fees for US and international students?

Current common fees are around $68 for US registration and around $111 total for many international registrations, excluding optional add-ons.

10. How many times should I take the SAT?

Many students take the SAT two to three times. Retakes are useful when your practice trend is improving and your target score is not reached yet.
